It's been over a year since I attempted writing, but today's event calls for an update!
If you follow Facebook, you already know that today we traded in our full-time RV'er status for the ever popular "Part-timer" or "Any-timer" with the purchase of a house at the Escapee's North Ranch community near Congress, Arizona.

Not yet 3 months since my last post! Well, yes, we've put a few miles on The Castle since then, that's true. We'd just arrived in Colorado Springs then. This year we were so priviledged to be able to attend my sister and brother in law's 40th wedding Ellie and Jimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01134142348673200133noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902723661411238684.post-42743039456550849432013-05-28T18:53:00.000-05:002013-05-28T18:53:51.477-05:00On The MoveAfter a fast two months in Amarillo, Texas, we've pulled up the jacks and checked the roundness of the Phaeton's tires once again. Our time in Amarillo went by in a flash this year! I think one major reason was that we got there early in April and winter hadn't quite finished up yet. We spent a lot of time waiting for warmer weather.

This is our site, and yes, those trees are every bit as close as they look! In fact, there is a branch just a few inches from the window behind Jim's chair. That's kind of how our travel day went today.

On the way, we stopped to get some of the gunk washed off the car from yesterday's rainy travel day. With our GPS, "DD" programmed and checked, we drove across the Huey P. We managed to get ourselves together and on the road at a respectable 9-ish this morning. First stop was at the Rainbow Plantation Office to pay out. Escapees parks are a little different, we don't pay up front to stay there. Instead, we pay at the end of the month, and when we leave. Well, that was a quick six months! It seems like we just got settled in and started having fun, and already it's time to get going. We'll be pulling up the jacks tomorrow morning and heading towards New Orleans for a few days of visiting with our good friend, Rosalie. Then it will be on to more adventures down the road.

Our RV lifestyle involves a lot of socializing, which almost always means getting together for meals or happy hours. We recently got together for lunch with neighbors Paul & Margery and Darrell & Judy at our nearby favorite, Big Daddy's. Paul & Margery were getting ready to move on to Florida where it's warmer! We enjoyed spending time with them and hope to see Ellie and Jimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01134142348673200133noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902723661411238684.post-14051525391280697872012-11-25T20:35:00.002-06:002012-11-25T20:35:22.557-06:00"Just-Stayin"Maybe I should think about changing the title of our blog, we sure aren't doing much of that "Justravelin" these days! We arrived at the Escapee's Rainbow Plantation on September 10 and the only travelin' we've done since then is a move across the street to a different site, but I've already written about that.
Our days have become fairly routine, with a few notable exceptions. Sunday and Monday brought quite a bit of rain.  We found out our new site isn’t quite as elevated as the one across the street, so we had a few puddles around, but with the sandy soil here, puddles don’t last very long. Jim has been wanting to make a run to Camping World up in Robertsdale, so he did that while I stayed home and did – well, pretty much – nothing.  Oh, I did manage to make the bed, cook a little breakfast, Ellie and Jimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01134142348673200133noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902723661411238684.post-90903223311333771932012-09-14T18:19:00.001-05:002012-09-14T18:20:51.944-05:00A Move and A Beach DayTuesday afternoon, after we’d sweated and worked our tails off setting up our patio, Jim casually mentioned that “next time” we come to the Plantation, we should think about asking for the site across the street, #63. Of course that played with my mind until yesterday morning. When Jim got back from the Laundromat, I said why not just move over to #63 now? This morning Dortha and Mark checked out of the Allegro

after hugs and handshakes we wished them safe travels and promised to see them

Another workweek is coming to an end in beautiful Red Bay,
Alabama. Yes, we’re still here, still
waiting for our number to come up to #1 to get into a repair bay. Maybe Monday…
Meanwhile, we’ve researched our options and have decided to
replace the entire jack system with the new type from Atwood. I can’t really explain the technical

Since my last entry on Wednesday, the only news on the
Castle is that the truck with the jacks on it finally did arrive Friday
morning. We’re optimistic that they will
be able to work us in sometime in the next couple of days to have the new
jack(s) installed. We’ll both feel a lot
better if we can be more stable while we wait for additional repairs.

I haven’t been taking a lot of pictures the past couple of days; this one was from
our door yesterday morning when I came back from walking the dogs early in the
morning. It was a very foggy
morning!
