We’re getting settled in and finding our way around the area. Our location is between Reedsport and the North Bend/Coos Bay area of the central coast of Oregon. Yesterday, we drove the 20 or so miles south to North Bend to the Super Walmart. Our portable electric heater went out a couple of days ago, and we needed a few groceries, so we thought we would just get those things taken care of. I’ll be attending a Weight Watchers meeting in that area on Wednesday, we also wanted to estimate how much time to allow for the drive. Once we had those errands accomplished, we spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the area.
I took my camera and set out for a walk around the campground:
The path on the left in the above picture goes all the way around the peninsula where the campground is located. On one side of the campground is the marina at Salmon Harbor. On the end of the peninsula is the mouth of the Umpqua River, and the third side is Winchester Bay. This is part of a county park system, with this part of it being the “resort” section. We’ve stayed in a lot of campgrounds that are nowhere near as nice as this one and paid a lot more than we are here. This is very reasonably priced at $144 a week.
Just around the bend from the campground is this fishing pier:
Looking back from the parking area at the pier towards the campground:
A great blue heron watches for the next meal:
Another beautiful day with a rare picturesque sunset:
Today has been another beautiful, sunny day. I volunteered to do the laundry so Jim could concentrate on football. We collaborated on a great meal and have gone for a couple of walks, just enjoying this beauty!

Great photos. OR coast is fabulous and we like to tour the towns along the Hwy 101. Good luck on the WW meeting! We're fulltimers that try to live a healthy lifestyle without getting side-tracked too much on our journey. I write a 2nd blog on healthy living...it is a challenge. Can't wait to read more about your new lifestyle.
You just keep on enjoying all that coastline beauty.
Miss you guys.
Indeed, what a lovely campground. How sweet to be able to take those walks and enjoy the beauty.
Savor those moments!
So glad to see you back on the WW thread girl.
Love the sunset photo. Travel safe
