A New Adventure Begins

Travel day! What a concept, after 2 1/2 months in one spot, we got ourselves back on the road today for a 260 mile journey from Santee, California to “Somewhere” in Arizona.

Our day started about like this.  The traffic was actually pretty light, and the sad thing is, we’ve actually almost gotten used to this kind of driving:

I don’t have enough speed with my internet signal to post all the pictures I took today, but we had a great journey over the mountains east of San Diego, not much traffic, not much wind, not too much sun or too much cloud cover – it was all just right!

We got into Arizona and were met on the road by Janna and Mike, who led us to our camping area:

Which was really great, since from the point this picture was taken, to the camping spot is about 20 or so miles!

Now, this is a campground!

I was surprised that Janna told us it was fine to park near them – that’s their motor home in the background.  A while back she posted on her blog that someone parked about 200 yards from them, and we’re quite a bit closer than that – maybe 50 yards!

She had snacks ready for us for happy hour after we got settled in, and then cooked a most delicious chicken and rice dinner, complete with our favorite dessert of angel food cake and strawberries!  Great neighbors!

We are so looking forward to this time of recharging – our budget, our senses, our friendship with Janna and Mike, our exercise routine – all of that.  I think we’re going to enjoy this boondocking thing!

Looks like a great spot! Don't know if you know Al & Kelly of the Bayfield Bunch (from Ontario) but they are somewhere there in the desert lol. Here's their blogsite:

Good luck with the RVing without!

Doesn't look like much grass for the fur kids. I don't think our Bayer would like that.

Have Fun

What no clubhouse!!
That is really deserted out there.
It should give you time to relax and recharge up your inner batteries, though not the ones on the coach.
Looking forward to more news from there.
