Grateful

These are 4 of our teen-age grandkids, Calib, Elyse, Kellie, and Cameron.  They live in Aurora, Colorado.  Last night, Calib went to the midnight movie with his girlfriend.  We’re very, very grateful they chose a different theater than James Holmes did.  They’re all ok.  But they still don’t know about all their friends.  Our hearts go out to all of the families affected by the senseless tragedy in Aurora, which pretty much means all families, because today everyone is more afraid to let their kids go the movies.  And kids are scared to let their parents go.

Today was a stay at home and catch up with ourselves day. Jim took all the laundry and I did the usual house cleaning.

Jim grilled some very yummy chicken for lunch and I slaved over the microwave making potatoes and vegetables.

We’ll get back to the sightseeing tomorrow.

So glad your grandson was not involved in that tragedy. So sad for all of those folks that were. Can't help but wonder what goes through people's heads.

Glad Calib is okay. No words can express the sorrow I feel for those who lost loved ones in such an unnecessary tragedy. Makes one wonder what has happened to this country.

Personally, I think violence on TV, the news, and in the games kids play from the time they are little should accept part of the responsibility. You just need a kid who is a little unstable, feed him violence until he's immune to it--and his brain leads him to commit a crime like this.

Most of us remember Psycho--the beginning of the "real life horror movies". I was scared to death to shower and had nightmares for weeks. I watched it recently and couldn't believe how little violence was actually shown. Have I become immune? If so, think how desensitized kids are by the time they are in their teens, these days.

Again, my heart goes out to those who lost loved ones. Lives changed forever.

My goodness! I cannot imagine how you felt when you heard the news this morning. We rejoice with you that your precious grandkids are okay. We also share in the sorrow that we all feel because of this tragic event. There are no words to express the shock, horror and grief.
