Las Vegas, NM to Colorado Springs

We weren't delayed by the weather this morning, except that we had to sweep ice and snow off the two slides that were on the shady side of the rig. We were still on the road by 9:30.

This was our view for the first 80 or so miles of today's trip:

The trip was uneventful, which is a good thing. We arrived at the KOA around 2:00 and got checked in. As I was signing the charge slip, the nice lady that checked us in set a great big bag of Popeyes chicken and all the fixin's on the counter and said that was delivered for us! Jim's good friend, Gary, bought that for us and dropped it off so we would have lunch ready for us. Thanks, Gary! What a nice thing to do!


We got settled in and I had a good long walk with the dogs. One of the nice things about this park is that, in addition to being right next to the interstate, on a flight path, and near the train tracks, is that there is a creek that runs by it as well. There is a dog yard that is quite a distance from our site, which will give me some much needed walking time taking them down there and back. Walking along the creek gives me a chance to view whatever wildlife might be around. Today I saw several Canadian Geese as well as a few ducks.


This evening, we went to my sister and brother in law's - Ann and Bob. She fixed a quick "breakfast" for us with her fabulous homemade cinnamon pecan rolls with it. We had a quick game of cribbage before she left with her granddaughter to go see a play. We came home to get some rest.

Our son and daughter will be coming out for lunch tomorrow, we're pretty excited about seeing them. We saw our son, Josh, when he drove out to California at Christmas, but we haven't seen daughter, Robin, since last October.
