A Friday in Tucson

Did I mention that I actually started a list for our Mexico trip? I hardly ever make a list, but there are a lot of details to remember, so I caved in. Today's items included getting the dogs to the vet to get a health certificate. It's a bit unclear whether we really needed them, but the way I figure it, it's better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it. As it turned out, it was a good thing we went. Both dogs were due for an update on some of their vaccinations. We're now all set with them. Well, except for calculating exactly how much dog food they will need for the time we're in Mexico. From what I understand, we can't come back into the US with dog food.

One of the places we've wanted to go while we're in Tucson is Sweet Tomatoes. It's a soup and salad buffet. Since we needed to pick up a couple of parts for the motor home at Beaudry RV and Camping World, we made a day of it and ate at Sweet Tomatoes after the parts run. We enjoyed the fresh salad and soups! Now, it might not sound like a big deal. Just a couple of quick errands, that shouldn't take long. But, getting around Tucson, especially on a Friday afternoon, is a big deal. The traffic is never light it seems, and the timing of their traffic lights is terrible. We drive a block or two and stop at a red light. This goes on all the way across town and back, which is a long ways. It took 4 hours to make 2 stops to pick up the parts and eat lunch!

When we got back home, we took the dogs out for a walk in the desert and happened upon JoAnn and Doug with Fillmore.

Today was the first time all three dogs have met.

Another item on our to do list for Tucson was to visit the Saguaro National Park at sunset for a few pictures. There wasn't much of a sunset, but we did get a few pictures.
