Still Visiting With Family and Friends

Shopping used to be one of our favorite pastimes, but living in a motor home changed that. I’m not even excited about clothes shopping, maybe because I know that if I bring in new clothes, some old ones need to leave. But yesterday, we needed to make a trip down the road to the Camping World. We decided that, in addition to the items we needed to purchase, we would finally get one or two lounge chairs. We’ve been carrying 4 fold-up canvas chairs that aren’t very practical or comfortable. With our President’s club card and the CW sale, we got two recliners at a fairly reasonable price. I also got a small tray table to set by the couch where I spend my computer time. This little table is just right for my laptop. And when we have company, it will serve nicely as an extra place to eat.

After our shopping trip we took our walk at Fountain Creek Regional Park. By then it was time to start preparing potato salad and broccoli salad to have with our grilled chicken. Ann and Bob came over for dinner and cards last evening. The guys won cribbage, Ann & I took the canasta game, and wonder of wonders, I won the spades game. I usually underbid all the time, so hardly ever score high enough to win. But the cards were kind to me. I had several hands with 5 or more spades. It was a fun evening with my sister and brother in law!

Today, our friends, Jo and Fred Wishnie, who are staying at
Chatfield State Park at the southern end of Denver, brought their granddaughter, Isabella, to visit. We’ve followed the Wishnie’s blog for quite a while and enjoyed our trip to Mexico with them in February. Ginger Hamon, from Pueblo, joined us here for sandwiches and salads for lunch. Ginger’s husband, Jesse, couldn’t get away from work today, so he wasn’t able to join us. We missed him! Ginger and Jesse are about to retire. They each only have a couple of weeks left to work. I can so relate to their excitement, since it was just 2 years ago this month that I retired. They have their house in Pueblo West for sale and are hoping it sells soon so they can become official fulltimers.

Jo, with Jasmine:

Isabella considers it all:

Jo and Fred got the “nickel tour” of the Castle and agree that it is pretty nice – for a motor home. They are 5th wheel folks. Isabella didn’t have an opinion, except that she enjoyed the dogs and the playground. BooBoo was happy to see her little pal, Jasmine. They picked up right where they left off – chasing each other from one end of the rig to the other.

Jim caught BooBoo in mid jump:

Jim and Fred survey the place:

After lunch we leashed the dogs and strolled down to the playground so Isabella could explore and climb. She entertained herself for quite a while as we visited in the small gazebo next to the playground. All too soon, it was time for the Wishnies to head back so they could avoid rush hour traffic. It was so good to see them again.

It's been a great Monday!

Oh, I love that photo of Boo-Boo! Hilarious!

Fun for you and the Wishnies to be able to get together again, huh? It's funny how frequently you cross paths with friends from your travels, isn't it?

Safe travels (when you get going again),

Of course, you got your blog up so promptly. I'll be lucky if I get something up before I leave. Loved the pics, especially the "flying Boo Boo". That was an amazing shot.

Good to see you guys. Loved the "Castle". You did good!

Jazzy is so friendly, she loves company doesn't she ? 2 or 4 legged.
I love the "Flying BooBoo", she looks like the Flying Nun.

That little table is neat, I have one made of brass and glass like that, definitely not RV-ish, so seeing a wooden one gave me some ideas.
