The Sun Sets on Another Great Visit

To those of you who are still in the working world I have to apologize for those days I talk about sleeping in and enjoying a leisurly time of drinking coffee before I get moving in the morning. But, those are the times I used to sit at my desk and daydream about. Mornings in my career life were always starting way too early, with way too much to accomplish and no time to enjoy the start of the day.

Now, it's something I cherish when I get to sleep until I want to wake up, drink my coffee and take my time getting started. This morning was one of those days, no moving day, no meeting, just a day I could start on my own time line.

Once I was up and halfway through my coffee, I got dressed, took the dogs and went to see if Karon and KD wanted to walk. We ended up walking for over an hour. It was cold when we started, but by the time we got back, we'd both tied our jackets around our waists. It was a beautiful morning.

I fixed breakfast and then Jim and I picked up Karon to go to the local HEB store in Taylor. I've been looking for the Krusteaz brand of fat-free brownie mix and wanted to check that store to see if they carry it. They do, so I got several boxes. I like to use that brand to make chocolate muffins, which are a great Weight Watchers treat.

When we got back from the store, it was time to wash The Castle. That took the next couple of hours. It's looking much better now, but still needs some additional polishing, which we'll try to get done soon.

An early dinner seemed like a good idea, so Karon, Dan, Jim and I went back into Taylor to a Mexican restaurant. I'm getting pretty good at staying within WW guidelines when eating out, but I'm also looking forward to eating in for awhile. We've just gotten out of that mode over the last week or so.

When we came back to the park, Jim decided to go to the Granger dam area and take some sunset pictures. The sky put on an awesome show for him, here are a couple of pictures he took:

I haven't mentioned any of the other blogs I follow for awhile. I hope you'll check my newest one, MtnAireTravlers - Sandy and Weldon are great folks we met through Dortha and Mark in Canton when we went through there in November.
It's been way too short a visit with Karon and Dan - I hope they can take a week or so and come down to the coast while we're there! We'll miss them, but know that we'll be seeing them again before long!

Those are beautiful sunset pictures. I really enjoyed reading your blog. We just arrived in Texas...at Port Lavaca, out on the beach at Magnolia Beach in a little campground across from the gulf.....on our way to Del Rio by the 14th. (I'm a WW, too).

What great pictures! I'm still working, but every morning I crawl out of bed when the alarm goes off means one day closer to enjoy my late mornings asleep once we're on the road. What a great blog. Thanks

That is OK I will get over it. I have to get up at 5:00 every morning and eat my oatmill and drink my coffee. Then it is off to that place I don't like to talk about. Love your photos of the sunsets. I wish I was there to see it in person.
